Production Description

The production of TPE car floor mats is a meticulous process. We start with premium TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) raw materials, carefully selected for their outstanding durability, flexibility, and resistance to wear and tear. These materials are also environmentally friendly and non-toxic, ensuring a safe interior for vehicles.

  

1. Raw Material Pretreatment and Proportioning: According to the preset formula, accurately weigh raw materials such as SEBS/SBS elastomer, softening plasticizer, filler, and functional additive. Then put them into a high-speed mixer, stir at 100ºC~120ºC for 5~8 minutes to make each component evenly dispersed, forming a homogeneous premix to avoid uneven performance in subsequent processing.

2. Melt Extrusion Granulation: Feed the premix into a twin-screw extruder, melt and plasticize at a high temperature of 160ºC~190ºC. After shearing and mixing by the screw, it is extruded into strips through a die, then cooled by a cooling water tank, and finally cut into uniform TPE pellets by a pelletizer, which is convenient for subsequent injection molding.

3. Blister Molding: Customize blister molds based on the floor data of different car models. Fix the prefabricated TPE sheet on the clamping device of the blister machine, and uniformly heat the sheet to 120ºC~150ºC through a heating plate to make the sheet soft and plastic. Then fit the softened sheet with the mold, start the vacuum system to extract the air between the mold and the sheet, and use atmospheric pressure to press the sheet against the surface of the mold cavity. Maintain the pressure and cool for 15~25 seconds. After the sheet is shaped, open the mold and take out the floor mat blank. At this time, the floor mat has formed a shape matching the car model and preset textures.

4. Precision Trimming and Shaping: Since the edge of the floor mat may have burrs after injection molding, it is necessary to perform fine trimming through an automatic trimming machine or manually to remove excess edges. For some floor mats with complex contours, shaping is also required to ensure their fit with the car body floor, with the error controlled within ±0.5mm.

5. Surface Functional Treatment: Perform surface treatment according to product requirements. Common processes include anti-slip pattern pressing, wear-resistant coating spraying or flocking. Anti-slip patterns can enhance the friction between the floor mat and the sole; wear-resistant coating can improve the surface scratch resistance; flocking can enhance the interior texture and have sound absorption effect at the same time.

6. Strict Quality Inspection and Packaging: The quality inspection link includes dimensional accuracy inspection, appearance defect inspection (such as bubbles, cracks, color difference), and sampling test of mechanical properties (such as tensile strength, rebound rate). Qualified products are cleaned, then individually packaged, marked with car model, specification and other information, and prepared for delivery.

Coupled with advanced production equipment like high-pressure blister machines and automated trimming tools, we can mass-produce high-quality mats with consistent accuracy.
